The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is currently looking to fill the position of administrative assistant for the Abuja Office.
The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks related to procurement, management, and protocol, all under the close guidance of the Administrative Officer.
This role involves supporting the development and implementation of efficient administrative practices.
To bolster the oversight functions of ECOWAS governance bodies, particularly the Audit Committee and the Council of Ministers, the Office of the Auditor General of ECOWAS Institutions (OAG) was established as an independent assurance body.
The ECOWAS Council of Ministers has empowered this office to conduct investigations, compliance audits, performance audits, community-wide financial audits, and other specialized audits.
The OAG’s structure includes an Internal Services Division, a Directorate for Program Performance Audit, and an Audit Directorate, with its main office located in Abuja, Nigeria.
Founded on May 28, 1975, when the Treaty of Lagos was signed, ECOWAS is composed of fifteen West African nations. Its primary aim is to promote regional economic integration among its member states.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the budget and work program’s creation and execution to guarantee alignment with goals and priorities while taking the best possible use of available resources into account.
By conducting routine reviews and offering efficient monitoring reports and data, you may assist in the monitoring and control of budgetary allocations, spot plan deviations, and suggest remedial actions.
Creates specific objectives that align with established plans; determines priorities and tasks, modifies priorities as necessary, and allows the right amount of time and resources to finish tasks.
Give management and employees performance guidance, anticipate risks, account for unforeseen circumstances while planning, keep an eye on plans and actions, and make required time-efficient adjustments.
Help with the creation of significant and intricate management reports
Perform administrative tasks with efficiency, including managing the workspace, space, tools, and information retrieval system
Help determine operational requirements, and create and support the rules that will streamline workflow.
Inform employees about office administration policies, procedures, and practices.
Support the execution of all the projects that will allow for the logical administration of the human and material resources.
Help in the creation of impartial, accurate, and well-organized reports that adhere to ECOWAS rules and regulations.
Assist with logistical and technical aspects of event planning.
Assist the office with the examination and analysis of incoming and outgoing files and papers.
Carries out additional tasks as directed by the manager.
Scanning and archiving all records about administrative procedures
Academic Qualifications and Experience:
Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Brevet de Technicien Superior (BTS) in public administration, business administration, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Five years of administrative service or comparable experience in a global public agency with administrative expertise in contract administration or management
Extensive familiarity with globally accepted procurement standards, as well as the stages of international procurement procedures and operations utilized when awarding contracts for a variety of goods and services
Understanding of quantitative techniques to help measure supplier capacity systems and contract law.
Be younger than fifty. Internal applicants are exempt from this clause.

Salary:
USD46,387.61 – USD62,185.62 Annually
