The African Development Bank (AfDB) offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in a transformative learning experience through its AfDB Internship Program.
This initiative not only allows interns to gain invaluable professional and hands-on experience in a prestigious institution but also enables the Bank to tap into a diverse pool of potential candidates for future employment opportunities.
Interns who meet the qualifications will receive a monthly stipend as well as comprehensive health insurance coverage provided by the Bank, ensuring their well-being during the internship period.
The primary aim of the AfDB Internship Program is to furnish financial and technical assistance for innovative projects that have the potential to significantly reduce poverty and foster equitable, sustainable economic development across the continent.
The program focuses on five critical sectors namely energy, agro-business, industrialization, regional integration, and enhancing the quality of life for African citizens.
These areas have been strategically identified to amplify developmental impact and align with the goals of the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy for 2023–2032. By honing in on these focus areas, the AfDB aims to accelerate its contributions to Africa’s growth and prosperity.
Furthermore, the Internship Program is an integral part of a broader Talent Management Framework designed to help the Bank achieve its ambitious “High 5s” objectives and the overarching Ten-Year Strategy.
Applicants for the AfDB internship are selected through a competitive process, meticulously aligned with the Bank’s evolving business needs and requirements, ensuring that the best candidates are chosen to contribute to this vital mission.
