Brilliant freshmen are encouraged to apply for the Presidential Scholarship at Lamar University. This prestigious scholarship covers full tuition fees, accommodation, transportation, and books for four years.
To be eligible, you must be a freshman with a minimum high school GPA of 3.9 or higher and must rank in the top 10% of your graduating class. Alternatively, you can submit your SAT scores of 1330 or higher or ACT scores of 29 or higher for consideration.
As an international student, you have to submit your SAT or ACT results before applying. To apply for the Presidential Scholarship, you must first be accepted for admission to Lamar University.
The application process involves submitting a resume, and a 500-word essay on one of three provided prompts, as well as providing 2 to 3 contacts for references.
It’s important to disclose if you have already been awarded scholarships by the university. Additionally, you are required to be part of the Honors College throughout your undergraduate degree.
