The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship 2025 is currently accepting applications from Egyptian students who wish to study for graduate and Undergraduate programs in the USA for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Selected applicants will have their school fees, transportation costs, and health insurance taken care of. Also, scholars will benefit from a monthly stipend that will take care of their day-to-day expenses.
Egyptians who dream of studying at some of the best US universities such as the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago are encouraged to apply for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship.
The selection criteria are fair, giving equal opportunity for qualified applicants to be selected.
Applicants will be selected based on their roles and contributions they made to groups they joined during the school day, excellent academic achievements, and enthusiasm for job creation.
Scholars can also apply for internships during vacations. The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship was created by Orascom Construction to improve the educational standards of the societies they worked in.

Key Things to Consider Before Applying:
- Only universities on the approved list are eligible for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program.
- Applicants who hold a Master’s degree from a foreign university or an Egyptian Master’s degree in a related discipline will not be considered for this position.
- Becoming a nominee for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship program does not ensure admission to a university. Only those applying to the universities listed below will receive assistance. The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program reward will be given following entrance into the university if the nominee is selected for the scholarship.
- Applicants will be considered if they hold an Egyptian Master’s degree in a technical discipline other than the one for which they are applying.
- Candidates who have not spent much time living, working, or studying abroad will be given preference.

Who Qualifies for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship?
- Masters studies Eligibility:
- GPA: 3.5 (Overall grade: Very Good or higher)
- New GRE scores: Minimum acceptable with an overall of 302 and analytical writing score of 4.5
- Fields of Study: Engineering, Business Administration, and Construction Management.
- Haven’t spent more than three years overseas.
- Be citizens of Egypt and permanent residents of Egypt (those without dual nationality will be given precedence).
- Old GRE scores are no longer acceptable.
- Be prepared to spend two years in Egypt following the completion of their bachelor’s degree.
- IBT score of 100 or better on the TOEFL
- They intend to get a master’s degree in business at one of the best universities in the US.
- Engineering or Administration.
- Three years’ worth of work experience, minimum.
- GMAT 650 or higher required for MBA (taken within 5 years)
- Have participated in extracurricular activities in the past or now.
- Undergraduate studies Eligibility:
- GPA of 3.5 out of 90% for the Secondary year Thanaweyya Amma certification, or comparable credentials
- Be prepared to return to Egypt for two years following the successful completion of their bachelor’s degree.
- Haven’t spent more than three years overseas.
- Be citizens of Egypt and permanent residents (applicants with mixed nationality will not be given preference).
- In 2025, they intend to begin their studies in the United States.
- IBT TOEFL score is 100 or higher
- Previous SAT (before May 2017) score of 2100.
- After May 2017, the new SAT score of 1450.
