The University of Montreal International Exemption Scholarship program is currently accepting applications from both international undergraduate and postgraduate students.
This program aims to provide you with the financial support to pursue your university studies at the University of Montreal.
Beginning in the fall season, selected students will receive an exemption from the tuition fees charged to international students. Scholarships will be awarded for the winter, summer and fall sessions.
The primary objective of this program is to attract and assist exceptionally talented individuals from around the world in attending one of the top francophone research universities globally.
Furthermore, by welcoming international students, the Université de Montréal hopes to enrich its community’s cultural diversity and global perspective, thereby contributing to the university’s educational mission.

- The sole assessment factor used to calculate the scholarship’s worth is your excellent academic record.
- The transcripts submitted with the admissions application are the basis for your evaluation.
- The assessment’s findings will establish how much you might be eligible for.
- You will not be eligible for the University of Montreal exemption scholarship if, following the assessment, your file is not found to be eligible for either level A or B. The level A scholarship award value is $13,340.40 per year and the B is $6,357.60 per year.
Qualification Criteria:
- You must not have received any additional tuition fee exemption.
- You should have study permits that are valid for each session of your program.
- To qualify, you must have been granted admission to a University of Montreal study program.
- You must not be accepted into any undergraduate programs that will no longer be offered beginning with the Winter session.
- You must remain enrolled full-time during your entire study term.
How to Apply:
- Make sure you review the admissions requirements for the study programs of your interest and adhere to the application deadlines before applying.
- Monitor your application and obtain an admissions offer. You will see your application and your admissions notice in your Center étudiant once it has been submitted.
- To begin the assessment, accept the offer of admission. Applying for a University of Montreal Exemption Scholarship is not required. Your eligibility and the amount of your exemption scholarship will be determined after an evaluation of your files.
- The Université de Montréal will notify you through email of the scholarship amount to which you are eligible after receiving your admissions offer.
