A newly established scholarship program will contribute to an increase in the number of women from low- and middle-income countries pursuing postgraduate studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines at Oxford University.
The program is made possible by a generous grant from the Optiver Foundation and will support up to thirty taught master’s students over five years.
This initiative is part of the Rhodes Trust’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community by leveraging its global network to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
The Trust encourages open and candid discussions, exchanging ideas, and the development of new and innovative concepts.
Cecil Rhodes, the founder of the Trust, envisioned that his Trustees would adapt his vision to meet the changing needs of the time, and they have indeed expanded the scholarship opportunities, particularly for students from Canada.
