Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 2025 Qualification:

  • The first PhD program being studied for.
  • Not been awarded PhD funding by the SSHRC, NSERC, or CIHR.
  • Must have completed the last two years of study with a first-class average.
  • Has to be an overseas or Canadian student enrolled in courses in Canada.
  • Must be enrolled full-time in a PhD program at a Canadian university.
  • Universities holding a Vanier CGS quota must submit a nomination. The new list will be available on July 1.
  • Only candidates with joint professional degrees (MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, or JD/PhD) are eligible for financing for PhD tenure.
  • Unpaid leave is available to employees of the Canadian federal government.
  • You can apply for both agency-specific and Vanier PhD scholarships. If awarded several scholarships, must select only one.
  • Full-time enrollment is required. However, in cases of disability or family assistance, part-time enrollment may be permitted with a modified study length calculation.
  • A substantial amount of research must be included in the research proposal.
  • Cannot hold an academic position at a university with a Vanier quota or any other organization without permission to get a PhD.

The candidate will be able to see this deadline on ResearchNet after choosing the university. The application deadline established by the applicant’s selected school must be followed.
