Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is seeking a dedicated grants and communication intern to join their team.
PUI is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and non-religious international relief organization that focuses on providing essential assistance to individuals affected by natural disasters, conflicts, and economic hardships.
The organization’s mission in Nigeria, established in April 2016, aims to provide emergency aid to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC).
You will work closely with the Grants Officer, contributing to communication-related tasks and assisting with PUI’s internal visibility programs and donor visibility obligations. This role will involve monitoring and producing content to ensure compliance with visibility pledges for all ongoing PUI initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Examining testimonies and success stories that demonstrate the significance of PUI’s work.
Producing succinct visual content for a range of media.
Overseeing the posting of content on social media platforms.
Keeping a careful eye on all of the department’s current communication themes.
Working closely with the coordination team’s departments and pertinent focus points at field offices.
Any additional duties about the communication needs.
Under the direction of the Grant Officer, keep an eye on and respond to messages on the platforms.
Every day, or as instructed by the grant officer, post information, upload, and archive images and videos on the appropriate channels.
Assist the Grant Officer in developing new communication tools, social network development and animation, quarterly newsletter format design, annual activity report realization, and field team success story realization.
To get ideas for stories, occasionally attend staff meetings, programs, and field trips.
Gather communication inputs from coordination and field teams to include in deliverables, such as photos of activities and events that highlight PUI’s work.
You may ensure that the coordination team and the field teams are getting the right information by exchanging communication products when necessary.
To effectively manage communication actions that have been completed or are still pending.
You will be expected to understand and monitor the Nigeria mission’s ongoing projects as part of PUI’s commitment to its projects.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Hausa and English is required; familiarity with Kanuri is advantageous.
A bachelor’s degree in communication, digital marketing, or a related discipline is required, as is prior teamwork, association, and global experience.
Strong familiarity with social media and communication technologies (Facebook)
Computer abilities include Canva, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint from the Microsoft Office Suite.
Outstanding ability to write and edit for a variety of internal and external audiences.
Proactive, vivacious attitude with an awareness of fast-paced settings
Understanding of web content management systems, familiarity with search engine optimization, user experience, and best practices for websites
Basic understanding of photography, video editing, and graphic design
An additional benefit will be familiarity with PUI programming in Nigeria.
