International students from developing nations who meet the eligibility requirements are now welcome to submit their applications for the DAAD MIPLC Scholarships from the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center.
These scholarships are offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), with a focus on supporting the training of experts from both developed and emerging economies through postgraduate study programs.

The scholarships provide an opportunity for you to pursue a postgraduate or master’s degree at a state or state-recognized German university. In exceptional cases, you may also pursue a doctorate and obtain a master’s or doctoral degree in Germany.

About German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The DAAD scholarship program is a privately funded, independent organization that receives support from both state and federal sources.
It represents 365 higher education institutions in Germany, including colleges of music and art, universities, technical universities, and general universities of applied sciences.
In 2003, the program offered competitive, merit-based grants for study and research at any of the recognized German higher education institutions.
It’s important to note that the DAAD does not offer its study programs or courses. Additionally, it provides grants to German students and researchers.
Scholarship Benefits:
- You enjoy a payment of 934 euros per month as a graduate or 1,300 euros per month for doctorate candidates based on academic standing.
- Contributions to health, accident, and liability insurance coverage
- In certain instances, you will enjoy a monthly allowance for accompanying members of the family
- Allowance for travel, unless the home nation or another funding source pays for these costs.
Requirement for Scholarship Qualification:
Since the DAAD Development-Related EPOS Program provides funding for the DAAD MIPLC Scholarship, qualified applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
Possess a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree, with above-average grades, or a three-year bachelor’s degree plus an additional degree.
Own a degree that was earned no more than six years ago.
Possess a minimum of two years of full-time work experience obtained in a developing nation working for a governmental authority, a state, or a private firm.
If you finish the two years by the time the program begins in October, that suffices to meet this requirement. Either way, the experience had to be obtained after earning your first degree fromcollege.
Possess English test results that satisfy the MIPLC criteria.
Documents Required for Scholarship Application:
Please ensure that you have the following items ready:
- Application for a research or study scholarship completed and signed by the applicant. Responses should be typed or legible.
- A curriculum vitae in reverse chronological order with no unexplained gaps. Use the Euro pass template and provide detailed information about your education and work experience.
- A comprehensive motivation letter detailing your personal, professional, and academic background for the program.
How to Apply:
Please remember to carefully review the list of all postgraduate courses 2024–2025 and thoroughly examine the details to determine your eligibility for application based on DAAD and MIPLC criteria.
Keep in mind that different requirements may apply if DAAD and MIPLC have unique eligibility criteria.
Visit the how to apply page to begin the admission process to the MIPLC. Additionally, refer to the financial assistance application instructions.
Once you have completed the online application, select “I would like to apply for the DAAD scholarship” and fill out the MIPLC financial assistance application form, which will open automatically. Afterward, print the forms and attach any necessary paperwork following the provided guidelines.
For more information, please refer to the DAAD booklet. It’s important to note that the MIPLC does not require a research proposal. Make sure to download and complete the DAAD Scholarship application form and remember to attach all other essential documents.
Keep in mind that even if certain documents, such as your resume, are needed by both DAAD and MIPLC, you only need to send one copy of each file.
Ensure that your file is complete with all necessary supporting documentation and all three application forms that is, the DAAD scholarship application, the MIPLC financial assistance application, and the MIPLC admission application.
Please note that your application cannot be processed in any other way, and duplicate copies of the program are not required.
Be sure to make duplicates of every application file. If you’re granted the scholarship, you will need to upload electronic copies of these documents to the DAAD’s system.
