The University of Hohenheim offers a limited number of scholarships for the M.Sc. Agricultural Economics program as part of the special initiative Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) in collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The DAAD provides comprehensive academic and professional support to eligible candidates from developing countries through the EPOS scholarships.
To be successfully selected, you must have professional experience in a developing country, working in a public authority, state institution, or private company.
You are expected to have been involved in the planning and execution of projects and initiatives with a focus on development policies related to technology, economics, and social impact.
As a recipient of the DAAD EPOS scholarship, you will receive research funding, health insurance, a monthly living stipend, reimbursement for travel expenses to and from Germany, and a waiver of tuition fees for the entire two-year duration of the Agricultural Economics Master’s program.

About German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD):
The DAAD Scholarship is provided by a private, self-governing national agency that receives support from both the federal and state governments in Germany.
It represents 365 higher education institutions in Germany, which includes 52 colleges of music and art, 162 general universities of applied sciences, and 100 universities and technical universities as of 2003.
The scholarship program offers competitive, merit-based grants for study and research in Germany at any of the recognized German higher education institutions. It’s important to note that while DAAD facilitates these grants, it does not directly offer study programs or courses.
Selection Requirements:
For you to be taken into consideration, you must meet the minimum conditions listed below:
Be a national of a developing nation
Have two years of minimum professional experience following a bachelor’s degree before the application deadline
Less than six years should separate academic degrees.
You must development-specific goals and motives
By the application deadline, you couldn’t have lived in Germany for more than 15 months.
Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with performance above average
Official documentation of English language ability as specified by the admissions guidelines
For example, TOEFL IBT 90 and IELTS academic 6.5.
Proof of completion of statistics and economics undergraduate courses
Evidence of self-assessment using the AgEcon PreTest
Required Documents:
Enumeration of all necessary DAAD application materials, duly signed and dated. The document must be printed, signed in ink, and then scanned once more.
Application for DAAD, dated and signed
Current resume in Europass format, without any gaps and in reverse chronological order with the date of release
Letter of motivation no more than two pages with date of issuance
Employer recommendation from present employer on formal letterhead with position specifics and referee’s contact information signed and dated
Employment Certificates, evidence of English language competency as specified by the entrance standards
Original copies of the diploma and transcript of records, certified translations into either German or English
Copies of the original University Entrance Qualification (UEQ), or secondary school leaving certificate, with certified translations into either German or English
