The Interdisciplinary Centre for European Enlightenment Studies (IZEA) at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in Germany is excited to announce the acceptance of international applications for two prestigious postdoctoral scholarships and one doctoral fellowship for the year 2025.
Funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation, these scholarships are designed to foster innovative research in the fascinating field of the history of science and knowledge, particularly focusing on the dissemination and practices surrounding knowledge during the Enlightenment period.
Selected scholars will gain invaluable access to IZEA’s exceptional resources, which include extensive libraries and unique historical collections that are essential for conducting in-depth research.

Fellowship Benefits:
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you get €2,300 per month for up to three months
Doctoral Fellows get €1,600 per month for up to three months
Besides having office space at IZEA and access to priceless academic resources, you are expected to give a public presentation about your work and write for the Voltaire Foundation’s “Café Lumières” blog in Oxford.

You must be a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher
