MacArthur Foundation is in search of a communication intern who will play a vital role in supporting the department’s diverse range of objectives, engaging in both short- and long-term tasks designed to foster effective communication strategies.
The intern will collaborate closely with the Communications team, which operates in tandem with various program teams and colleagues across the Foundation, to create and implement strategic communications plans that enhance the visibility and impact of both MacArthur’s initiatives and those of its grantees.
The Communications team is responsible for a wide array of functions, including media relations, digital and social media campaigns, the production of printed materials, and the organization of events.
Additionally, the team serves as a critical link in the Foundation’s strategic communication efforts with external stakeholders, including the public, media, and policymakers.
The team also offers guidance and support to MacArthur’s grantees, employees, and leadership in their communication endeavors.
To ensure that the internship provides a rich and rewarding learning experience, the intern will actively participate in various activities, including staff events, team meetings, and briefings with grantees and other practitioners.
Rather than being restricted to a single social issue, the intern will have the opportunity to contribute to a broad array of MacArthur’s focus areas, gaining exposure to the Foundation’s comprehensive mission.
This internship is especially valuable for candidates who are passionate about harnessing the power of communications as a means of driving social change and making a meaningful impact in the community.
