The University of Auckland’s International Student Excellence and High Achievers Scholarships offer a wonderful opportunity for international students who have demonstrated strong academic excellence to pursue their studies in New Zealand.
This prestigious scholarship program, established in 2016, is designed to attract talented students from around the globe to the esteemed Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, to pursue either undergraduate or graduate studies.
Scholarship Brief Description:
- The scholarship is sponsored by the University of Auckland
- The scholarship will last one year
- Valued up to $10,000 for educational expenses
- Each year, up to 50 scholarships are given out.
- Covers undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate diploma programs.
Scholarship Benefits:
You enjoy a $10,000 tuition reimbursement contribution cap if you excel academically.
You can apply as a foreign student participating in a program of study for a minimum of one year, including undergraduate and graduate.

Selection Criteria:
You must be an international student to be eligible for the award; you cannot be citizens, permanent residents, or holders of residence visas in Australia or New Zealand.
You must be;
- A new student who has been offered admission to an undergraduate or graduate program,
- An English Language Academy (ELA) student, or a Summer Start International program participant who has been offered admission. Offers of admission may be conditional or unconditional.
Enroll full-time in Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, for an undergraduate, graduate, or PGDip program.
You will be eligible for consideration if you have an equal Grade Point GPE of at least 6.00.
You cannot apply if you enrolled in specific business master’s programs or have already studied in New Zealand.
