The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is actively seeking a dedicated Supply Associate for its Abuja office.
This position plays a critical role in supporting the efficient supply and procurement processes within the country office, particularly in construction and engineering services.
The Supply Associate will be responsible for executing a comprehensive range of transactional, procedural, and administrative tasks under the guidance of the Supply Specialist.
This role is essential in ensuring that operations are conducted in a timely and efficient manner, adhering strictly to UNICEF’s established rules and regulations.
The Supply Associate will be required to demonstrate a proactive approach in investigating and adapting to various irregular cases, showcasing their ability to assess situations thoughtfully.
Additionally, this position involves the identification and recommendation of improvements to enhance both process delivery and design, striving for operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
Accepts supply requests, verifies the correctness of item specifications, and confirms funding availability, acquiring more details from program sections as needed.
keeps an eye on assigned requisitions to guarantee that procurement operations are completed on time.
Obtains quotes, invites approved and listed suppliers to submit bids, and works with the Supply specialist to organize and participate in bid openings.
Creates price tabulations with ratings and suggestions for placing orders, and gets CRC submissions ready for the Supply Chief (or OiC) to approve.
Communicate on supply, construction, and procurement issues with suppliers, program sections, and field offices.
Creates and gathers a range of warehouse reports using vision and supply dashboard/pipeline monitoring reports.
Guarantees the constant availability of procurement-related data, such as forecasts, orders, arriving items, requisitions received, and real delivery dates. creates ad hoc and periodic reports, including construction reports when necessary.
keeps track of all necessary procurement paperwork in purchase order and contract files, including purchase orders, invoices, delivery receipts, payment requests, correspondence, contracts, etc.
In charge of regularly carrying out surveys of the local market.
Update new product technologies and conduct market research for new products and new sources of suppliers and contractors.
Complies with UNICEF supply criteria by maintaining supplier databases and files containing complete information for construction and procurement.
Prepares purchase orders, or direct orders, by current long-term agreements (LTAs), making sure that the lead time and quantities specified in the LTA are appropriate.
Requirements:
Secondary school graduation is necessary, and business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or logistics courses or certificates are preferred.
It is necessary to have at least six years of increasingly involved administrative and or supply-related work experience (procurement, supply, or logistics).
It is advantageous to be familiar with UNICEF and UN supply systems and procedures.
English proficiency is necessary. It is advantageous to know a local language or another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish.
